This is the first Oral Presentation I did this year, together with Fiona. We' talked about the pharaoh Tutankhamun and it's course, I believe it was quite an interesting topic. We learnt many things we didn't know about this mysterious legend. Hope you like it, even if you can hardly see us because of the darkness... Sorry!

German police find dead children
In the north german state of Schleswig-Holstein, a mother has been accused for having killed her five young children. Police found the kid's death bodies in the lady's house and they seem have suffered a "violent" death, according to the inspector. In a statement was said that the only reason of this murder mut have been the mental illness of the mother, thing which made the police detain her and bring her to a psychiatric facility.

Bringing English
This article talks about the increasing level of English at Universities, in due to the big number of foreign students who arrive from countries like France, Britain, Germany or even Asia and Africa. There are also postgraduate courses which are taught in English.
It's also important the presents of Erasmus Mundus, a travel and cooperation programme which makes it possible for south-east asian students to study in a european country for a time. This arrivel of foreign people makes the national students increase they're use of English, because they need it to communicate with they're new mates.

Elderly and those who live alone suffer the highest poverty rates.
The article talks about the percentage of poverty in Catalonia. Poverty is most expanded on women over the age of 65, widows and widowers, foreigners and people with only a primary level of education (or lower). People who live alone represent the group with the highest percentage of poverty-level incomes (38.7 %).
Aproximately 17.2% of the catalan population lives below the poverty line ; many of them with an income of less than 7,470 € a year.
We should not forget that the world’s population is increasing every day more and that this economic problem will still continue.

Computer have made the world a better place
Nearly everyone of our developed society has a computer at home, and the mojority of us uses it every day. We all know about the big problems which can be caused by an addiction to these machines, but could we really live without them?
On the one hand, computers have become essential for people in developed countries and in the case of young people they're used a lot to spend their free time. Playing computer games, surfing the net or chatting online with people can cause an important addiction which is difficult to solve.
But on the other hand, computers are necessary and very useful for everyone. Students, for example, use them often for their homework or for looking for information in a faster way. A part from that, many people's job consists basically in the use of these machines, which help them, in many cases, to create graphics or calculate taxes.
To sum up, computers are definitely essential for our lives, not only because of the good way you can spend your freetime with them, but because they're useful at work as well.
Computers have definitely made our life much easier but they also have many disadvantatges, about which we should always be conscious.

Analizing an advert
Hello guys,
So, we had to choose an advert and comment it. We chose a one of Virgin Atlantic Airlines which we considered really funny and interesting. It had lots of things to comment about like music, colors and the feelings that we develope while watching this advert just like happiness or compassion.
The commercial tells a story about a man who travels and falls asleep next to a obese man he does not know. He starts dreaming wired things, but just take a look yourself on the video.
The target audience are people who need to travel a lot, specially to places which are quite far away. The feelin or modd you get while watching the advert is, on the one hand, the disgusting feeling of travelling near someone you don't know and who falls asleep next to you. On the other side, you get a feeling of happiness when you're in love.
The advert is attractive, because it's quite a different way of presebting a product, it also shows a very attractive and new way of flying. It is also quite influential because it catches your attention.
SOUND AND MUSIC:
The music is lovely and it works sublime and ironic on te human psych. The artists are the Bee Gees with How deep is your love, in the end you listen the typical Virgin atlantic Jingler either. The pace is slowly and keeps slowly the hole commercial on just until the end when it stops and silence starts as the dreamer wakes up and takes alook on the cruel reality of his life.
SYMBOLS, LOGOS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS:
The advert doesn't have any special effects, but it has loads of bright and shiny colours. These colours are used to create this feeling of happiness during the commercial . The feeling you get when you are deeply in love. But in the end, the colours shown are dark, because they show the end of the man's dream and, at the same time, the real life.
At the end the logo of Virgin Atlantic Airlines appears in black letters on a white underground.
PEOPLE AND ACTIONS:
The only group represented is the the young man and the obese one during the hole commercial. At the end of the dream they stay infront of a reverent who wants to marry them. It tries mainly to show you that on your flight you can meet lots os people that you can like or dislike. Flying upper class, you can escape the people you could dislike, creating more space for you, the costumer.
the poeple in this ad are dancing and happy and are doing things that lovers just do just till he wakes up and sees that a big obese man.
these actions are a consequence of that he first is sleeping and secondly because he-s on a long way travel. :)

The slogan is: "Fly Virgin Atlantic upper class and get your own flat bed suite", but the words which really catch your attention are "If you wanted to sleep with him, you would have married him".

Well, first of all I show you he joke I told in class, and after that I'm gonna add you another one that I once heard somewhere and I found quite funny. Hope you like them!!
Early one morning, mother went in to wake up her son...
Mum: "Wake up it's time to go to school!"
Son: "But why, Mom? I don't want to go!"
- "Give me two reasons, why you don't want to go."
- "Well, the kids hate me, and the teachers hate me too..!
- "Oh, that's no reason not to go to school. Come on now and get ready".
- "Give me two reasons why I should go to school".
- " Well, for one, you're 52 years old. And for another, you're the Principal!"
ANOTHER JOKE!!
Little Mary was not the best student in Sunday School. Usually she slept through the class. One day the teacher called on her while she was napping, ''Tell me, Mary, who created the universe?'' When Mary didn't stir, little Johnny, an altruistic boy seated in the chair behind her, took a pin and jabbed her in the rear. ''God Almighty!'' shouted Mary and the teacher said, ''Very good'' and Mary fell back to sleep.
A while later the teacher asked Mary, ''Who is our Lord and Savior?'' But Mary didn't even stir from her slumber. Once again, Johnny came to the rescue and stuck her again. ''Jesus Christ!'' shouted Mary and the teacher said, ''Very good,'' and Mary fell back to sleep.
Then the teacher asked Mary a third question, ''What did Eve say to Adam after she had her twenty-third child?'' And again, Johnny jabbed her with the pin. This time Mary jumped up and shouted, ''If you stick that damn thing in me one more time, I'll break it in half!'' The Teacher fainted.
